Online Talk – Tuesday 18th February – 7pm

Orchil: The story of a house and its Graham occupants

Join us for our annual online talk. We are privileged to have Ian Robertson give our talk this year. Ian is a retired businessman, presently a non-executive director on commercial as well as charitable organisations. He does selective consultancy In retirement he has become involved in various projects involving research and writing. Friends from his days in Singapore asked him to produce a book on the story of Orchil House in Perthshire which they bought as a retirement home.

Ian will outline the history of the evolution of the house at Orchil and the Graham family who had it built, until it was sold in the 19th century.

Dedication & AGM – Saturday 17th May – 11am

The annual dedication to the 1st Marquis will take place at his monument in the Chepman Aisle in St Giles Cathedral, Edinburgh. Member and guests will meet at 11am for a minute’s silence. This will be followed by a short walk into Parliament Hall where the Marquis heard his fate.

The AGM will be held in The Royal Scots Club, Abercromby Place, Edinburgh, followed by a light lunch. Plans are still being finalised with our after lunch speaker. Details will be published nearer the time.

Annual Field Trip to Inverlochy – Friday 5th to Sunday 7th September

Plans are well underway for the field trip to Inverlochy. We will visit Inverlochy battlefield and castle, the West Highland Museum in Fort William and the Sharpening Stone in Glen Roy.

Details of the weekend will be published when plans are finalised.
