The 2025 dedication and AGM of the 1st Marquis of Montrose Society was held on Saturday 17th May. Over the years, the format for the day has proved successful and the event started with the group gathering in the Chepman Aisle of St Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh where Lt Col Malcolm McVittie gave the dedication followed by a minute’s silence.

The AGM took place in The Royal Scots Club. After lunch, an excellent lecture entitled An “Armie of Voluntyres ‘: The Scottish Royalist Armies under Montrose” was delivered by Dr Andrew Lind, who had earlier been voted in as Vice Chairman of the Society.
