On Saturday 6 June, Andrew Lind (Vice Chairman) and Mike Netten (Council Member) represented the society at Carronade, Scotland’s largest wargaming convention. Andrew was invited to give a lecture on Montrose and the Scottish Royalist armies of the civil wars in anticipation of the release of his upcoming book on this topic, co-authored with Dr Ed Furgol. In this, Andrew was assisted by Mike, who demonstrated some of the clothing and equipment used by Montrose and his men. The day was a great success. The society would like to thank Falkirk District Wargames Club for including us and we look forward to welcoming any and all new members who are interested in learning more about the marquis and his times.
