Dominic Pearce will talk about his book – The King’s Only Champion. Published in May 2023, Dominic draws on research not previously available to earlier biographers and includes Charles I and the tradition of kingship.

Saturday 18th May

Annual Dedication, AGM & Lunch

We will gather in the Chepman Aisle in St Giles Cathedral, Edinburgh for our annual dedication to the Marquis. The dedication will be followed by our AGM and a light lunch in the Royal Scots Club, 29-31 Abercromby Place, Edinburgh. Our after-lunch speaker will be confirmed nearer the time.

Friday 6th – Sunday 8th September

Our annual field trip will return to the battle sites of Auldearn (May 1645) and Alford (July 1645). If time permits we will visit Bellie Churchyard, Fochabers where Montrose’s son is buried.
