On 20 May members and friends of the Society gathered in the Chepman Aisle of St Giles Cathedral, Edinburgh for a short dedication to the 1st Marquis. The New Club in Edinburgh was the venue for the AGM and lunch where members were updated on the work of the Society over the last year. After lunch, and in collaboration with the Scottish Society for Northern Studies (SSNS), Professor Nadine Akerrman from Leiden University gave an excellent talk on Elizabeth Stuart, Queen of Hearts, giving a fascinating insight into her life, through the interpretation of her extensive correspondence of the period.
